ABOUT US
I’m a qualified Accountant with a double major in Accountancy, Banking and Finance. I was working as an Insolvency Accountant in an Insolvency firm when I graduated from university in 2010. I was an Insolvency Accountant for nearly 3 years, then in May of 2013 I decided to put an expression of interest on a block of land to build my first home.
I had my usual discussion with a bank to see if it was feasible to purchase the land and build a suitable first home. I then had an appointment with a finance broker that ended up turning into a job interview. I took a leap of faith and decided to change careers at that time to become a finance broker. All of which happened in a single day. I ended up with a baptism of fire when I started as there were only 4 of us and the person that was going to train me had to take some unexpected leave. I survived and fell in love with the job very quickly while learning about the many facets of becoming a broker, being:
- Learning the policies from all the panel lenders that I had an accreditation with to find a suitable lender to meet the clients goals and objectives.
- Learning how to structure applications within lender policy for the client to get the greatest benefit for their goals and objectives.
- Learning to listen to clients current and future goals and objectives to become a solution based broker for the client.
My employer at the time only had a passion for residential lending only. Which meant that I was given the opportunity to look at all other lending transactions in the finance world. During that time, I experienced many different forms of lending including:
- Residential property purchasing and refinancing for both owner occupation and investment purposes.
- Commercial property purchasing for both owner occupation and investment purposes
- Asset finance for both consumer and business purposes.
- Self-Managed Superannuation Funds purchasing property.
- Personal loans
- Business lending to assist with: working capital needs, improvements, new business purchases, business expansions
After 10 years of employment and a lot of experience gained. In 2023 I decided that it was time to start my own business. I have a young family with my children aged, 9, 4 and 1 when I decided to start my own business. I wanted the freedom to able to attend important events for my family and children as they grew up. I want to be a present father to my children and be an important influence on their lives. I hope that my partner, Laura, will also want to come work with me in the business as it grows and evolves. I also want to be a broker that is there for my clients as well when they need the right advice to help them with their own goals and objectives.
